Emmanuel Lebron Memorial Scholarship at CUNY
Sergeant First Class Emmanuel De Jesus Lebron served in the United States Army with honor and distinction, leaving a legacy rooted in loyalty, compassion, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to others. Born in New York City, Emmanuel came from a close-knit family and community and developed a deep sense of responsibility to help, protect, and uplift those around him. He studied political science before enlisting in the Army, where he served for 11 years and advanced rapidly through the ranks, earning promotion to Sergeant First Class at age 31.
Emmanuel was known not only for his discipline and excellence, but also for his character: loyalty to his family, fellow soldiers, and community; compassion for those in need; the ability to lead by example; and a steadfast commitment to service.
With this scholarship, Emmanuel’s family honors his memory by supporting CUNY students who reflect Emmanuel’s character and ideals, and who seek to carry forward his example through public service and/or military service.
