Radiologic Technology Scholarship

The Scholarship will help increase the number of people who are well-qualified to perform medical imaging exams in New York State, especially in the New York metropolitan area, without consideration of the recipients’ financial or legal status.
All applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Financial need, as determined by Hostos’ Financial Aid Director (or equivalent) and/or students’ FAFSA ( or equivalent)
• Outstanding character in the judgment of the Radiologic Technology program faculty, as evidenced by at least one letter of recommendation from the faculty or academic transcript indicating a GPA of 3.25 or higher ( on a 4.0 scale) in courses taken at Hostos.
• Submission of a Personal Statement (approximately 500 words) by the student. The statement should discuss the student’s educational and professional goals and how the scholarship will be utilized.

First Priority will be given to applicants who:
are completing their final semester in the Radiologic Technology program at Hostos and intend to pursue an advanced radiologic technology certification (i.e. CTMR) upon graduation and passing the AART registry, as evidenced by a bill or letter referencing
acceptance/enrollment at the institution that will be providing the advanced certification.
Second priority will be given to applicants who:
are continuing students in Hostos’ Radiologic Technology program and have completed all but the final two semesters of that program.
