Professor Cynthia G. Jones Beloved Community Scholarship
The FUND will be used to provide scholarships for matriculated students with a demonstrated financial need who are in good academic standing and have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. The FUND will be used to award scholarships that help to defray the cost of tuition, fees, and other costs of attendance for students who have matriculated at the COLLEGE, without consideration of financial or legal status. Applications will be reviewed by the COLLEGE’s Scholarship Office. Eligible applications will include:
• Documentation of the applicant’s participation in community service (i.e. a letter of recommendation from faculty or a conversation with a representative or supervisor of a service organization)
• A short (500-word) essay responding to one of the following quotes and describing how the applicant’s actions demonstrate love for the community and display respect, compassion, kindness and patience toward others
