John Anthony Chardavoyne Scholarship Endowment
In memory of Mr. Chardavoyne’s life-long desire to learn and spread joy, this scholarship will award $1000 to eight (8) graduating Liberal Arts and Sciences students in the History Option Sequence. Full-time enrollment in the A.A. Liberal Arts & Sciences Degree Program and working toward the completion of a Historical Studies Option or the completion, or current enrollment in, two (2) of the following History courses: HIS 210, HIS 211, HIS 214, HIS 201, HIS 202, HIS 215, or HIS 225. Eligible applicants must:
- Have a degree concentration in historical studies
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Be a graduating student who is continuing to a four-year college degree program
- Demonstrate community service
- Submit responses to three essay questions detailing:
1. Why they chose historical studies
2. What they have gained from these classes in the sequence and will apply to their future endeavors
3. Why they engage in community service activities and what they gain from these experiences
