The Feiner Family Scholarship
The Feiner Family Scholarship Fund has been established for students facing financial hardships. The Scholarship will award up to $1000 to 12 full-time or part-time students. Awards will be allocated depending on the individual need described and in accordance with the supporting documentation provided. Financial Need and or Extenuating Circumstances.
The Feiner Family Fund Scholarship has been established for students with “Extenuating Circumstances.” The Scholarship will assist students currently facing housing or eviction issues, which may prevent them from completing their courses for the current semester. The Scholarship will award up to $1000 to eligible full-time or part-time students. Awards will be allocated depending on the individual needs described and the supporting documentation provided.
This emergency fund is open to all students currently enrolled at Hostos and in good academic standing. Recipients must sign an agreement stating that they will complete the semester upon receipt of the award. No GPA is required for first-year students. Continuing and transferred students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher to qualify for this Scholarship.
Only complete applications will be considered, and paper or applications submitted by email will not be accepted. Recipients will be selected on a need basis.

The Feiner Family Fund Scholarship for Financial Need has been established to assist currently enrolled Hostos students facing financial adversity. The Scholarship will award up to $1000 to full-time or part-time students. Students facing outstanding medical bills, overdue electric bills, past due childcare bills, assistance with books, tuition balances, and other academic-related reasons are eligible to apply. Applicants must submit, along with their applications, all of the supporting documents.
Awards will be allocated depending on the individual’s documented needs. This award is open to all currently enrolled Hostos students in good academic standing. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
To qualify, students must:
-Submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty, staff, academic advisor, guidance counselor, employer, or supervisor
-Be currently enrolled as a Hostos student
-Answer all supplemental questions in as much detail as possible
-Have a demonstrated need for (eviction notice, outstanding medical bills, overdue electric bills, past due childcare bills, assistance with books, tuition balances, and other academic-related reasons are eligible to apply)
-Submit documentation that supports the needs described (if you experience issues uploading your documents, contact the Scholarship office for assistance; info provided below).
Students can only apply to one financial need or extenuating circumstances; it is a one-time award.

Examples of documents can be a bursar receipt that shows a current tuition balance, needing money for books or other school materials, or any other personal need such as late rent, past due electric or medical bill, etc

- Please upload a copy of your unofficial transcript (must be downloaded from your CUNYfirst account, then uploaded on your application.)

- Please write the donor a message of appreciation.
- Please enter the name, last name and email account of your recommender. This will allow them to upload a letter on your behalf
