Anna Milagros Rivera Memorial Scholarship

Lidio Rivera created this scholarship in memory of his late niece, Anna Milagros Rivera, who passed away too soon in 2022. Anna was passionate about her Puerto Rican heritage, nursing, accounting, and serving young people in New York City’s Lower East Side neighborhood. This scholarship seeks to honor her life by supporting students completing Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) programs, inspiring students to persist despite financial challenges. ​ Requirements: Demonstrate Financial Need; Be accepted or currently enrolled in the College’s RN or LPN program; Have grown up in a female,single-parent household; Have demonstrated knowledge of the history, culture, and/or language of Puerto Rico; Submit a self-written essay of no more than five hundred words that answers the following: 1. Why are you pursuing a degree in nursing? 2. How did growing up as a single parent and female head of household inform your educational goals?
