Macaulay Honors College is CUNY’s highly selective honors college that inspires and prepares students to address the challenges facing New York, our nation, and the global community. The Friedman Transfer Scholars Program provides a pathway for CUNY associate students to enter a Macaulay Honors bachelor’s program at one of our partner colleges.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT:

Scholars who transfer to Macaulay receive all Macaulay benefits, including:
A tuition scholarship
Access to the Opportunities Fund to participate in an internship, study abroad, or research
Individualized advising

CUNY TRANSCRIPT
The application requires information from your unofficial CUNY transcript, including cumulative GPA, credits earned, and credits attempted (courses you’re taking) for Spring 2024.

TWO REFERENCES
You will need references from two professionals who can describe your academic, professional, and personal goals and characteristics that will help you succeed as a Friedman Scholar.

Reference 1: Your first reference must be a professional at your current college. This person could be a professor, coach, or academic or student affairs adviser.
Reference 2: Your second reference any be any person (excluding family and friends) that can speak to your personal, professional or academic achievements, qualities and goals.
Once you have identified your two references, refer them to the Friedman Transfer Scholars Recommendation Form, found at https://forms.office.com/r/FJsKTCCggJ. This form must be completed and submitted by the application deadline, Monday, May 6, 1PM.

Be sure to also collect their contact information, such as their name, title, company/college, phone number, and email address, for your application.

TWO ESSAYS
We require that you submit two pieces of writing. Each should be between 250 – 500 words. Essays must be submitted in a Word or PDF document.
