Daniel Padovano Memorial Scholarship, The Coalition of Higher Education Assistance Organizations (COHEAO)

The Coalition of Higher Education Assistance Organizations (COHEAO) is pleased to announce they will award a Daniel Padovano Memorial Scholarship to students of member institutions 2022-2023 Academic Year. Applicants must be entering either their undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior year or be graduate student. Applications must be received by Thursday June 30, 2022, as scholarships will be awarded by August 1, 2022. Students can apply at https://coheao.com/about-2/scholarship/.

Daniel S. Padovano was born and raised in New York City. He earned his BA in from Concordia College and his MA in American and Modern Middle Eastern History from CUNY- Hunter College. Daniel also held a Certificate in International Affairs and European Union Studies from New York University. An avid and skilled historian, he served as Adjunct Professor of History and American Government at Pace University, Iona College, Metropolitan College of New York and was liturgist at his Greek Orthodox Church. Earlier in his career, he taught History in the NYC Public School System.

Most notably, he was in charge of the Federal Perkins Loan Program for the City University of New York, which held a portfolio of 280 million dollars. He served on many committees and advocated for the Perkins Loan Program, which was a subsidized Federal Loan Program for low-income students. Daniel often represented CUNY on the national stage at industry conferences, and was a member of many Business Office/ Financial Aid Associations in Higher Education. He was passionate and genuine in everything that he was a part of.

COHEAO has served as a partnership for campus-based programs for more than 40 years and is ultimately responsible for keeping colleges and universities connected in a transparent and highly effective manner. COHEAO provides networking and professional development opportunities through its conferences, webinars, and task forces, focusing on compliance, legislative and regulatory issues.
