Paralegals for the Community, LLC is an all women owned Paralegal Firm founded in 2018. This scholarship is dedicated to the father of two of the Co-Founders, Rachel and Swannie Batista, who died in 2017. This scholarship is dedicated in helping students advance their full range of knowledge and education through a Paralegal Studies program. That is why we are proud to announce the Ricardo Batista Paralegal Scholarship for the Spring of 2022.
Award Amount: $1,000.00
Award Announcement: May 1, 2022
Application Commences: February 1, 2022
Deadline: April 15, 2022
Criteria
1) Bronx Resident
2) Female
3) U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or DACA recipient
4) Apply for financial aid by filling a FAFSA, with priority given to those who are eligible for financial aid.
5) Be enrolled part-time or full-time in an Accredited Paralegal Studies program in one of two colleges in the Bronx.

Requirements
1. 1 recommendation letter from a Professor (past or current)
2. Have at least a 3.0 GPA
3. Copy of Unofficial Transcript
Application Details
Applicant must submit a 500-word essay answering the following three questions.
1) Why do you want to become a Paralegal?
2) How will your study in Paralegal Studies contribute to your immediate or long-range career plans?
3) From a financial standpoint, what impact would this scholarship have on your education?
