Josephine Aguado Scholarship

The Josephine Aguado Scholarship is awarded to full-time (12 credits) or part-time (9 credits) single parents pursuing a college degree at Hostos Community College. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better is required for continuous students and entering freshmen must have high school average of 75% or better. Applicants must be currently taking no less than nine (9) credits. The application must be accompanied by a typed one-page personal statement of 500 words min, two letters of recommendation from faculty, staff, success coach or academic advisor.
The money will be disbursed as follows: $750 will go towards tuition costs and or academic expenses. Another donation of $250 will be granted upon successful graduation.

To qualify for this award students must:
-Be currently enrolled at Hostos as a full time (12 credits or more) or part time (9 credits min).
-Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher for continuous students and a high school average of 75% or better for entering freshmen
-Submit a copy of unofficial transcript
-Must be a single parent
-Be taking no less than nine (9) credits
-Submit a one page typed personal statement of 500 words min.
-Submit 2 letters of recommendation
-Answer all supplemental questions
