The Honorable Hector L. Díaz Scholarship

The Honorable Hector L. Diaz Scholarship Fund has been established to provide tuition support for 8 qualified Hostos Community College students who are pursuing their associate’s degree. The Honorable Hector L. Diaz Scholarship Fund is intended to assist students with tuition support in the amount of $2,500. Applicants must be entering their final year to qualify.
Scholarship recipients will be selected on a need basis. Please note that applications for this scholarship will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and the opportunity will close as soon as the 8 most qualified recipients are identified and the available funds are exhausted.
To be eligible for this award students must:
*Be entering their final year and have exhausted all other financial aid benefits.
*Have a GPA of 2.3 or higher
*Demonstrate a history of service with undeserved communities
*Write a personal statement explaining your educational and professional goals
*Be graduating no later than at the end of the Fall 2021 semester.
*Answer all supplemental questions
*Provide a copy of their transcript (Must be downloaded from CUNYfirst, then uploaded on your application)
*Provide proof of amount due (Bursar receipt. Must be downloaded from CUNYfirst)

All recipients must:
*Be available to participate in a meet-and-greet breakfast with donors (time and location to be determined)
*Write an appreciation letter/note to the donor
All applications and materials must be submitted through the scholarship system. Paper and email applications will not be accepted and incomplete applications will not be considered.
