The 1199 SEIU Scholarship

Thanks to the generous support of 1199 SEIU, the Hostos Community College Foundation would like to offer 5 scholarships of up to $1000 each, to students in financial need and with a declared major in the Allied Health field.The Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time or part-time need-based student who is pursuing an associate degree in Allied Health. The student must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher. A personal statement essay must be included explaining the applicant’s career goals, and aspirations and how receiving this award will help them achieve their educational and career goal. All supplemental questions must also be answered. Applications must be submitted online through the scholarship system. Incomplete applications or applications sent through email won’t be considered. Recipients must be available to participate in the Virtual Celebration of The Black and Dominican Heritage Month celebrations, scheduled for February 25th, 2021 where they will be presented with their awards-More details about the event will follow.
