The Carmine Family Scholarship for Students Enrolled in the ESL Sequence

The Carmine Family Scholarship has been established to support full-time students in the ESL Sequence who are in good academic standing. Students are required to have been matriculated at Hostos Community College for at least one academic year and must hold a GPA of 2.0 or higher. To be considered, students must write and submit a 500 words max essay in response to the following prompt: Explain a current challenge you are facing and how receiving this scholarship will benefit you and get you closer to your career goals. Upon eligibility, one student will be selected and awarded up to $500.

To apply students must:
-Be currently matriculated at Hostos
-Be a full-time student in the ESL Sequence
-Have a Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
-Submit an essay in response to the given prompt
-Submit one letter of recommendation from a Hostos or CUNY faculty, staff, academic advisor or success coach
All applications and required materials must be submitted through the scholarship system by the set deadline for consideration. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
