The Honorable Hector L. Díaz Scholarship

The Honorable Hector L. Diaz Scholarship Fund has been established to provide tuition support for 10 qualified Hostos Community College students who are pursuing their associate’s degree. The Honorable Hector L. Diaz Scholarship Fund is intended to assist students with tuition support in the amount of $2,500. Applicants must be entering their final year to qualify.
Scholarship recipients will be selected on a need basis. Please note that applications for this scholarship will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and the opportunity will remain open until the 10 most qualified recipients are identified and the available funds are exhausted.
To be eligible for this award students must:
*Be entering their final year and have exhausted all other financial aid benefits.
*Have a GPA of 2.3 or higher
*Demonstrate a history of service with undeserved communities
*Write a personal statement explaining your educational and professional goals
*Be graduating no later than at the end of the Fall 2020 semester.
*Answer all supplemental questions
*Provide a copy of their transcript (Must be downloaded from CUNYfirst)
*Provide proof of amount due (Bursar receipt. Must be downloaded from CUNYfirst)

All recipients must:
*Be available to participate in a meet-and-greet breakfast with donors (time and location to be determined)
*Write a thank-you letter to the donor
All applications and materials must be submitted through the scholarship system. Paper applications will not be accepted and incomplete applications will not be considered.
