Josephine Aguado Scholarship
The Josephine Aguado Scholarship is awarded to full-time (12 credits) or part-time (9 credits) single parents pursuing a college degree at Hostos Community College. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better is required for continuing students, this is not a requirement for entering freshmen. Applicants must be currently taking no less than nine (9) credits. The application must be accompanied by a typed one-page personal statement, two letters of recommendation.
The money will be disbursed as follows: $750 will go towards tuition costs and or academic expenses. Another donation of $250 will be granted upon successful graduation.
To qualify for this award students must:
-Be currently enrolled at Hostos as a full time (12 credits or more) or part time (9 credits min).
-Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for continuing students, this is not required for entering freshmen
-Submit a copy of unofficial college transcript
-Must be a single parent
-Be taking no less than nine (9) credits
-Submit a one page typed personal statement.
-Submit 2 letters of recommendation
-Answer all supplemental questions
Please note that no paper applications are accepted. All applications and required materials must be submitted on or before the set deadline, through the Hostos scholarship system. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
